New Girls

The female social combat of my lifetime left many women wounded , hollowed and silently incensed. Many times it was their only reward for trying.
Earlier men had prophesied that women’s every achievement would be something stolen from them. These same were later heard cynically whispering about women’s grief, “Well, join the club.”
Hidden in every man is an awareness of his regret. How he never used his right to try.
New girls are roaming around today with the right to try.
