More’s the Pity

I am warming to this inrush of Mexican and Central Americans into the US. It doesn’t faze me in the least. Real Americans are slowly evolving into a newer species which can no longer physically handle manual labor anyway. So let them have at it, I say.

What does unnerve me however is our loss of colonizing gumption. There was a time, not too long ago when these countries to our South would have just been taken over with a sixgun and a few horse striding Texas Rangers. More’s the pity.
