Looking forward to looking back

I said to my daughter, ” We will both look back on these times as the best years of our lives. The only difference will be that you will be in your fifties, and I will be in my hundreds.”

I’m wooing a girl I dated 40 years ago. Back then, she told me she loved me. I was reticent (cowardly). Recently, I told her that I loved her. She was reticent (careful). I told her that’s ok, I understood. I’d give her 40 years. If she couldn’t tell me she loved me by then, we were quits. She’d be 105 and I’d be 112. Time to move on.
I think, perhaps, a match made in delusion. That is soooo nice. The thing of it is, a woman never needs more time and a man can never get enough of it.
